Blogger's Beauty Brawl Day 6: Blush Review

11 Jun 2016

Hi, Everyone! Welcome back to Day Six of the Blogger's Beauty Brawl! Today, we will be reviewing a blush! I was pretty happy to see this on the list as I haven't really talked about many on my blog so far. My blush collection is small but mighty, and I found it hard to pick out just one to include in the brawl because I love all of my blushes dearly. I've only recently started adding it to my beauty routine so my shades aren't the boldest and brightest but if you're looking for something more natural or for daytime wear, keep on reading! Let's take a look at today's pick:

The Blush that I've chosen is by my trusty brand Essence Cosmetics. This is their Silky Touch Blush in the shade Autumn Peach. I know that I talk about this brand a lot but I seriously can't get enough of it. Everything that I have tried so far has great quality for something never over five dollars. The only downside is that I keep looking on their website only to find so many interesting products not sold in Canada, but I'm hopeful that one day I will get my hands on them! Now for the card:

Product: I have many shades by Essence but this shade has got to be one of my favourites. Autumn Peach is a beautiful dark pink/orange shade with a little shimmer added in. I tend to wear more matte blushes but I've been wearing this none stop and love the glow that it gives my skin. It's not disco ball status by any means, though. When I first came across this brand, I figured that their products might not be pigmented but as you can tell by the swatch, it's amazing for the price! You can go really heavy handed with this blush I've found, so I prefer to add a little at a time to make sure I stay away from the clown look. The formula is super soft and blends like a dream! One of the downsides is that it doesn't really last that long so keep that in mind. I can easily look past that though because my work day isn't very long, and I don't normally go out on the town because I'm super lame. I haven't seen this shade in stores recently, but it's on the Essence website so I'm sure it's still available if you wanted to pick it up!

Packaging; There isn't much to the packaging for this blush which I really love and hate at the same time. It's great because it's so compact that you barely notice that it's in your makeup bag, and easily fits into my makeup drawers without taking up so much space. However, if you're clumsy like I tend to be, then the packaging isn't sturdy enough to survive falls. I've dropped another shade a few times accidentally only to have it break into a million different pieces so I'm extra careful with them now. I've also found that the label has started to rub off so I took that into consideration as well when scoring it.

Price: I'm going to have to give this a 100 for the price simply because it's only $2.99 and is a total steal! Like I've said above, I'm just getting into wearing blush so having these to experiment with before I start building my collection has been lovely! I have a few CoverGirl blushes as well as ELF and The Body Shop and they are just as comparable. If they made new shades, I would be scooping them up in a heartbeat.

Tomorrow marks one week of blogging for me and I'm so proud for keeping up with it. It might seem like such a small achievement for most, but as somebody who works a regular job throughout the week, I don't always have the time I want to spend on blogging. That being said, I plan to sit down and make a routine so that I have the time to post at least twice a week like I used to! To keep up the awesome reviews going, hop on over to Beth's blog, or search #BloggerBrawl16 to see everybody's posts! I hope to see everyone tomorrow for Day Seven!

With Love,
