Blogger's Beauty Brawl Day 1: Fask Mask Review

6 Jun 2016

Hi, Friends! Happy June! I can't believe I have been away for so long. I hope you haven't missed me too much ;) Finishing up the last few weeks of my undergrad was especially hard on me, and my blog sort of fell onto the back burner. I was feeling so lost and overwhelmed with all of my final exams, and changes that were happening in my life, so after it was all said and done, I was in serious need of some time to myself. Now that we've settled into our apartment and I've started a new job, I feel like I can finally breathe again. It honestly feels so amazing to have the motivation and energy to blog again! I wanted to come back strong by doing something that I first found a few months ago called the Blogger's Beauty Brawl: 10 Days of Summer. For ten days some amazing ladies and I will be bringing you product reviews of some products we have carefully picked for each day! I used my graduation last month as the perfect excuse to pick up some new products to review and I am so excited to bring them to you!

The first product on our list and today's card is Face Mask so I decided to go with my current favourite. This is Formula 10.0.6's Deep Down Detox Ultra Cleansing Mud Mask  with Orange and Bergamot and ultra cleansing is what is does! This product is wonderful for days when I feel like my skin needs the extra clean outside of my normal face routine. For my review I will be talking about the Product itself, the packaging as well as the price as mentioned on the card.
First, I scored it an 80 overall for Product because I can't say that this is great for sensitive skin. I sometimes have issues with sensitivity on my cheeks, and while this leaves my skin feeling squeaky clean, it can be a little harsh and painful if left on for too long some nights. The smell is also very strong but something I have gotten used to over time. I'm used to using the St Ives scrubs and masks which have a very little smell so this was definitely a change. However, it's definitely one of those products you would have to give a go yourself as everyone's skin is different. You get 100ml's of product which doesn't seem like a lot compared to some other masks I've used but you seriously don't need to use this every day so it lasts forever!

Second is packaging which I scored a 95 as I love everything about the packaging. I've noticed that every product that this brand offers looks similar with the bright colour tube and big font.  It's very sleek and eye catching on the shelf which sets it apart from everything else in the skin care aisle. The only small issue I have is with how the tube is made as the plastic sometimes makes it hard to squeeze the product out. This mask is quite a thick paste so I think it would be much better off in a glass or plastic jar to help out with that because I can't see myself getting everything out without cutting it open.

Lastly, I scored it a 95 for the price as I've seen it range anywhere from $10 to $15 dollars. As a drugstore product, this isn't as cheap as many of the other face mask options, such as  Freeman or St Ives. However, as I've mentioned, I only use this every once and a while so I haven't gone through very much. For something so great at cleaning, it is definitely worth the extra bit of money.

Blogging for ten day's straight is a little daunting to me but I'm so excited to share what else I've been collecting for you guys! Working with some awesome girls has made this project so much easier and I'm excited to share everything I've been collecting for you. To keep the review's going hop on over to Kara's blog to check out her review on another one of my favorite masks here! I hope to see everyone tomorrow for Day 2 of the Brawl :)

With Love,
